“We’re extremely honored and grateful to earn the Blue Ribbon School recognition,” said Central Elementary School Principal, Haley Sarkisian. “It’s a testament to the amazing dedication of our teachers and staff as well as a reflection of the relationships we continue to build with our students, families and community.”
Central Elementary is among just 297 schools across the country to earn this distinction in 2022. With its 39th cohort, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has bestowed approximately 10,000 awards to more than 9,000 schools.
This marks the seventh National Blue Ribbon School distinction for Valparaiso Community Schools, including Thomas Jefferson Elementary (2018), Memorial Elementary (2015), Northview Elementary (2012), Hayes Leonard Elementary (2010), Cooks Corners Elementary (2007), and Valparaiso High School (1983).
